The Monthly State of the Game:

As seen in our Calendar applications will open on May 1st 12:01 AM EST and will close May 10th 11:59 PM EST. Reserves are currently closed and will reopen on May 26th!

Rather than put up a new test-drive for May, we're going to keep the current one up and available to players.

We will have our first official Activity Check this month with the ability to gain extra-AC as well.

We will also have our very first game-wide HMD. It will be member locked and closely monitored by the mods to ensure there is no harassment. It will go up May 15th allowing plenty of time to respond to it. Please Note: HMD IS MANDATORY FOR ACTIVITY CHECK THIS MONTH

Mother's Day Event:
Jack has heard of this wonderful holiday called "Mother's Day" and so, on May 8th, every character, no matter the age or gender, will be getting a doll! Not any doll mind you, this is Halloween Town, after all. No, the doll given to the travelers to celebrate is a Voodoo Doll!

The dolls will appear magically with no instructions except a giant red heart stitched onto its chest with "Needs Love" stitched into the red fabric. At first, they may look like a normal voodoo doll, but your character will notice that the dolls button eyes are the same color as their own. No matter what your character does, there is no way to get rid of the doll. If they throw it away, there will be a sharp pain in their arms and legs. If they try to burn it? The character will start feeling incredibly hot. It will come back the next morning, bearing the damage done to it by the character.

As the month goes on, the voodoo dolls will start to change. It will start to look like the character in question. The better your character takes care of the doll, the better it looks. A well loved and tended to Voodoo doll, one that has been cared for and "mothered" such as pretending to feed it, taking it everywhere with you, dressing it up, and letting it sleep in bed with you will grant a choice of rewards to be revealed in June's State of the Game.

If the doll has been mistreated or neglected, the doll will seek out revenge! Nothing too harmful, mind you, but it will have no issues causing you to stub your toe on a chair, to hit your shin on the couch, to bang your elbow into the door, and other minor, but very inconvenient and briefly painful, actions with a final month long curse to take place in June.

If a voodoo doll has been neither treated well nor poorly, merely allowed to exist, such as letting it sit on the counter or lay in the bed the entire month, the doll will not grant a reward nor seek revenge, all you will get is a belated mother's day card that reads "Thanks, you tried." on June 1st.

The dolls will last all month until June 1st.

Please don't hesitate to recommend any ideas or holidays for the characters to enjoy, we will have a fun exploration event to find our first holiday outside of the Hitherlands in June! So keep an eye out for that.
