This test drive is meant to provide those who are interested in applying to the game an opportunity to not only experience the setting and mechanics, but to interact with players and characters already in the game!
The threads on the Test Drive Meme may be used for both sample sections of the applications and those already in game may use the threads here to supplement up to ten comments for their AC regardless of whether the player you threaded with applied.
It is up to the discretion of each individual player on whether they would like to use what happens here on the Test Drive Meme as their IC intro into the game.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The monster your character picks will not be official until you are accepted into the game. This is your opportunity to try out all sorts of monster types until you find the one that suits you and your character best!

The Prompts:
Prompt 1 - Arrival: Having just arrived to Halloween Town, you may feel a little queasy. That is entirely natural. You're in a giant circular room with whatever it is you may have brought with you. A very tall figure walks out of the shadows and he's incredibly pale... that is until you realize the hand reaching out to you is not bone-thin, oh no, it is actual bone. Meet the ruler of Halloween Town and the king of Halloween, Jack Skellington. He greets you with a big smile and exclaims with joy how happy he is that you made it and how much happier he is to see you, one hand held out in greeting and the other holding the Jack o' Laptop he has ready for you.
Perhaps you stay to listen to him explain what awaits you and he will then happily escort you outside into the town to provide you a quick explanation before he excuses himself to greet the other new arrivals, leaving you to explore the town. Or, perhaps, the mere sight of a skeleton was... not what you were expecting and you ran out screaming before he can get more than a "Hello-" out.
Either way:
Prompt 2 - The Town: Whether you ran out screaming or were guided out into the town, there are most certainly monsters and ghouls all about. If you were patient enough to wait for an explanation, you know that they are the residents of this holiday. If you ran out screaming? Well, you might be getting more than a few scares- we mean... stares. But the town is just waiting for you to explore! But something is strange. When you look into a mirror or see a glass you look just a tiny bit off. And perhaps you feel just a tiny bit different.
Maybe you don't even have a reflection and all you can feel at the moment is a deep need to feed. Surely someone can help you... provided you can stop screaming at the sight of the citizens long enough.
We wouldn't recommend attacking any of the citizens, however, newborn monster that you are. We wouldn't want you to be a spirit so early in your visit.
Prompt 3 - The First Door: You've now been in Halloween Town for several days and while the zombies eat brains and the vampires drink blood, no one has tried to attack you (unless you've attacked them first, of course). The mayor, driving in his car announces a town meeting! Everyone must come to the Town Hall, even our new arrivals. Jack and Sally explain that Easter is nearly here! And the Easter Bunny has been kind enough to invite you all to experience what it's like to get ready for the holiday! It is time to take your trip through the Hitherlands to the door of Holidays. The path is laid out with Jack o' lanterns and linked bat-light strings between the trees to guide you to the doors. Don't mind that rather ominous entrance, within is perfectly safe... well... at least we think it is. As you travel along the path, you'll come across all the doors, but the one you are seeking is the one currently open. Trying to open the other doors, be it with spells or with force will result in nothing. Do you go in? Do you head back to the town?
Prompt 4 - Easter Island:Welcome to Easter Island! You may need to squint at first, since it's so bright and colorful, the complete opposite of Halloween Town. But once your vision adjusts, you'll notice something... different. You will find you are no longer any monsters but instead you're- well... to put it quite plainly, you're adorable! You have been turned into the citizens of Easter Island! The Easter Bunny welcomes you warmly, quite surprised to see so many adorable newcomers! And you'll find, perhaps without surprise at this point, that you can understand him. So what does he have planned for you?
Prompt 5 - Easter Egg Hunt: No matter what cute, adorable, and fluffy animal or egg ghost you've been turned into, there is an Easter basket waiting for you to go on a hunt! Throughout the entire island, that's yours to explore, are all sorts of different colored eggs. Each differently colored egg offers you a special reward or a certain kind of magic.
If you find:
A red egg: Will make you more inclined to hug and cuddle with the next person you see. A pink egg: Is a dark chocolate egg! Mmm chocolate. An orange egg: Is a milk chocolate egg. Mmm more chocolate. A yellow egg: Will suddenly turn into a small plush animal that replicates the animal you got turned into. It's so soft and fluffy. A green egg: Will turn into a little plastic egg-bracelet or egg earrings. Don't lose them though, the Easter Bunny asked Lady Luck to imbue them with a tiny bit of luck. A blue egg: Will make you burst out into song and you can't stop until you finish that song. A purple egg: A couple extra Holidollars and you get to take that with you back to Halloween Town.
But perhaps an egg hunt isn't something you're interested in! That's completely fine, the citizens need a lot of help getting ready for Easter for people! There's all sorts of jobs you can do! There's egg painting, egg counting, egg gathering, and basket weaving! All of these jobs pay Holidollars and you're making holidays wonderful for children everywhere!
Just don't drop the eggs! We don't want to make more egg spirits! Dropping an egg will bring you a whole day of bad luck as well.

1 - Arrival - Lake Creature [It doesn't seem like there's a lot of people screaming upon arrival, but there's someone who honestly looks like she wants to. Rise doesn't mind the idea of Halloween from what she's heard of it, but the western festivities have nothing on this very tall, very personable skeleton that's eagerly shaking her hand before leaving.
Honestly, she looks pale. Really quite pale. Not as pale as Jack of course, but after all this and drinking that really gross potion... she's more green around the gills and terrified looking than she was an hour ago.]
...This is unreal.
[Holy crap is that a ghost following Jack now? Okay. She just might really lose it.]
Th-this can't be r-real...
[Shadows she can handle any day. Ghosts? NO. THANK. YOU.]
2 - Around Town [Okay. Okay. She's okay.
You know what? This place isn't too bad. A little freaky at first and she still hasn't gotten used to seeing ghosts around, but at least people are nice. That's a plus right? They helped her in not trying to scream her head off.
But as Rise stops in a store window to check herself over, she might need a hand again. Or someone to talk to. While adjusting a pigtail she sees something on her skin. Something that looks light pink. A zit maybe? There's more of them around actually. Pink and... blue? Zits aren't blue, and they're certainly not rough to the touch.
No. These are more like scales.
She has scales. She has scales.
Cue this little idol screaming her head off now because this can not be happening.]
4 - Egg Hunt This place isn't so bad actually. Definitely better than that other town.
[No ghosts in Easter land, that's for sure. Instead of her weird scaly fish-skin that she had back in Halloweentown, this place turned her into a little auburn bunny. Which is definitely an improvement in her books.
And egg hunting didn't sound like such a big issue to her either. So she's been going around, placing eggs in the basket that's as big as her when she picks up a yellow one--
Pop! Suddenly, she's not holding onto an egg, but a plush replica of her bunny self, ears mimicking her usual pigtails.]
Awwww! It's so cute! [And into the basket it goes with a giggle.] This place isn't so bad, right?
Wildcard [Hit me up with a new prompt if you want! ♥]
[Snow White heard the scream and hurried over to it, holding up her dress to allow her to run. Oh dear! Oh no, was someone hurt. She saw the other girl and came to her side.]
Are you alright? What's wrong! [As this was Snow White, her running to Rise's side came also came with her ever present entourage of animal friends.]
[It take Rise a moment to process what she's being asked as she pokes and prods at her face and pouts at the reflection.]
Scales! [Sorry, Snow. She's in full panic mode now, complete with a shrieking voice and tears starting to well up in her eyes. When she turns to face the other girl, she points to a small cluster of shimmering blue and pink dots on her face.]
I have scales! Who's heard of an idol who's had scales before?! [And she turns back to her reflection again, idly wondering what would happen if she tried to remove them...] No one mentioned that we'd get scales here!
Oh now now! [She tried to soothe, resting a hand on Rise's elbow.]
You still look lovely! And scales don't make you a good person, or a beautiful person where it matters most. You can be exactly what you want to be, even with scales.
[She offered a gentle smile.]
Why, I'm sure that someone so talented could do anything they wished, if they just put their mind to it. And you best stop, we don't want you getting hurt!
[ When Souji drank the potion, he wasn't quite sure what he was expecting. But considering everything that they'd dealt with in the past year, he figured that... well, whatever it was, he could probably handle it. You face gods and monsters on the regular, this kind of thing isn't too farfetched.
It isn't too farfetched for one of his friends to be here, either. At first he thinks that maybe he's hearing things, but as he scans the room he perks a little at the sight of Rise.
He hasn't seen her look so pale in quite some time, now, though he can understand why when he catches sight of the ghost. Ah. ]
Rise? [ Souji doesn't hesitate to approach her, hand extended in a soothing and welcoming gesture. Best to distract her as quickly as possible. ]
[With the way she beelines right to him and how tightly she hangs onto his hand, he might as well have been thrown a lifeline. She would recognize that voice anywhere, and seeing him is a huge relief.
Congrats Souji. You effectively distracted her.]
What are you doing here? You went back to the city, right? [Looking up at him with big eyes, she's really not all that surprised that he'd be here. From what she's heard from Chie and Yosuke, he was the first one to leap into the TV world, even if it was a dare of sorts.
Eh, whatever. Rise's just glad he's here now as she moves a little closer to him when another ghost passes by.]
[ Rather than just lingering in the center of the lab, Souji starts to lead her away the second that their hands are joined, keeping his attention focused on her but making sure they don't run into anything else that might make either of them jumpy.
Shadows are one thing - he remembers how telling ghost stories turned out back home. ]
Yeah. I got my invitation when I was on the train, actually. [ As he sees the other ghost, he gives Rise's hand an encouraging squeeze. Maybe they should leave the lab? Although if this is a town... ] I figured I ought to check things out. What about you?
same! I'm kind of super rusty at her though, but I'm loving your souji so far!
[If this really is a town, she's screwed unless she gets over her fear of ghosts really quickly.
She really does try to smile at his reassurance, but it comes off as very strained and awkward and worried. It doesn't help that she keeps watching the ghost as it passes by.]
Uh... [Right, right. Just keep talking to him and ignore everything else. If she can do that, she might just be able to survive. Taking a few deep breaths and still hanging onto him.] J-just after you left. It was on my desk when I got home, and I was a little curious about it.
[A beat passes and she grimaces at their surroundings.] If I knew it involved drinking gross things and ghosts, I would have tossed it out...
tdms are good for fixing that, but I think she's great!
[ It's... they'll be fine, he's sure. Souji will help her through it as best he can, which he's going to start now by deciding it'd probably be best for them to at least find a less busy location to relocate to.
Even if they're heading into a spooky town instead of a spooky lab, hopefully it means being able to get away from curious ghouls. ]
Yeah, it was pretty gross. [ He gives another squeeze. ] But since we're here together, I bet we can find something to make up for the aftertaste. Maybe we can even get somewhere that's a little less busy. [ And spooky. ]

She squeezes back. So far so good in terms of avoiding the ghouls, but she still wants to find a corner to hide and die in.] Argh, yeah. Some place that doesn't do green goopy drinks or blood or... whateve's in that gross fountain.
[She groans and creeps a little closer to him until her head is against his arm.] ...I'm so glad you're here, Senpai. If I knew it was like this and I was alone...

[ Hopefully. At least they can figure it out together, just like back home, instead of either of them being alone. He might be handling it better, but it'd probably get to him over time if it was just him.
Though, as he assesses the town once they're making their way through it, Souji can't help but think it's going to be easier said than done. The Pumpkin King said something about places to stay, so maybe they can make Rise's a little less... spooky.
