Mod Announcement

With heavy hearts we are sorry to say this but due to a lack of interest and applications we have decided to move on and close the game come June 1st.

✷ However, if anyone else would like to take the reins, then please contact the mod account/official mod-contact post and we'll be more than happy to discuss things.

You’ve all been wonderful players and we thank you for the interest you have shown in the game and we hope you continue to enjoy your RP experience, but as it stands, come the end of this month, the potion will be sending everyone home.

Quick Announcement

After some mod discussion we would like to pose the potential ideas to our player base for future changes in the game. While the first point we are implementing already, we would like to hear from all of you and your opinions on the matter for the other potential ideas!

✷ First: We have decided to leave Applications and Reserves permanently open! If we get a bigger influx of players and characters, we'll go back to an application cycle, but as it currently stands, we don't see much of a point to have cycles. Reserves will now last two weeks when put in, and can be extended once for an additional week.

✷ Potential Idea #1: Since applications will be open from now on, the idea would be to no longer have an introduction log for new characters. We do apologize to our newest muns who were waiting to introduce their characters up to this point if this agreeable to everyone, but hope that this will ease matters in the future. Characters who app within the 1st to the 30th/31st of a month would be exempt from that month's AC (but would still need to participate in the bi-monthly mandatory HMD)

✷ Potential Idea #2: Change up some of the monsters. While most of the monster choices have had at least someone in each one, we are interested in knowing if there are monsters you would rather see in the game and which monsters (if any) might need to face the chopping block.

✷ Potential Idea #3: As it currently stands, the AC is 20 comments from your character with at least 2 other characters. This can be across as many threads as necessary for AC. The potential idea is to lower it by another 5, making it 15 (though we would not be lowering it any further than that). OR making it 20 comments overall so it would be you and the other player rather than just from your character alone.

✷ All of these ideas have the potential to be implemented, but we want to know your thoughts on the matter below. Also please feel free to bring forth your own ideas to the table as well! This is your game! So we want to know what you think!

Hullo there, everyone! I'm Zara, and I'll be bringing you Merida from Disney Pixar's Brave, who has been reborn as a newbie vampire!

For those unfamiliar with her source material, Merida is a Princess from the Scottish Highlands who does not fit the "perfect" image of a princess that her Mother would much rather she did. She's an energetic, head-strong lass, with a mind all of her own. Even if that mind more than often leads to trouble for her, or those around her. She's amazing at archery, and not bad with a sword either. No superpowers, but oh man, is she stubborn.

State of the Game

The Monthly State of the Game:

As seen in our Calendar applications will open on May 1st 12:01 AM EST and will close May 10th 11:59 PM EST. Reserves are currently closed and will reopen on May 26th!

Rather than put up a new test-drive for May, we're going to keep the current one up and available to players.

We will have our first official Activity Check this month with the ability to gain extra-AC as well.

We will also have our very first game-wide HMD. It will be member locked and closely monitored by the mods to ensure there is no harassment. It will go up May 15th allowing plenty of time to respond to it. Please Note: HMD IS MANDATORY FOR ACTIVITY CHECK THIS MONTH

Mother's Day Event:
Jack has heard of this wonderful holiday called "Mother's Day" and so, on May 8th, every character, no matter the age or gender, will be getting a doll! Not any doll mind you, this is Halloween Town, after all. No, the doll given to the travelers to celebrate is a Voodoo Doll!

The dolls will appear magically with no instructions except a giant red heart stitched onto its chest with "Needs Love" stitched into the red fabric. At first, they may look like a normal voodoo doll, but your character will notice that the dolls button eyes are the same color as their own. No matter what your character does, there is no way to get rid of the doll. If they throw it away, there will be a sharp pain in their arms and legs. If they try to burn it? The character will start feeling incredibly hot. It will come back the next morning, bearing the damage done to it by the character.

As the month goes on, the voodoo dolls will start to change. It will start to look like the character in question. The better your character takes care of the doll, the better it looks. A well loved and tended to Voodoo doll, one that has been cared for and "mothered" such as pretending to feed it, taking it everywhere with you, dressing it up, and letting it sleep in bed with you will grant a choice of rewards to be revealed in June's State of the Game.

If the doll has been mistreated or neglected, the doll will seek out revenge! Nothing too harmful, mind you, but it will have no issues causing you to stub your toe on a chair, to hit your shin on the couch, to bang your elbow into the door, and other minor, but very inconvenient and briefly painful, actions with a final month long curse to take place in June.

If a voodoo doll has been neither treated well nor poorly, merely allowed to exist, such as letting it sit on the counter or lay in the bed the entire month, the doll will not grant a reward nor seek revenge, all you will get is a belated mother's day card that reads "Thanks, you tried." on June 1st.

The dolls will last all month until June 1st.

Please don't hesitate to recommend any ideas or holidays for the characters to enjoy, we will have a fun exploration event to find our first holiday outside of the Hitherlands in June! So keep an eye out for that.

I already posted on the drop page but wanted to notify everyone anyway and apologize. This place looks so great and I was really excited about playing here but RP in general has just been impossible for me the last few weeks, and I don't know when the ability to brain it all again will come back. When it does though, I really hope to return because I still think this place looks like a really fun place to play.

Hello everyone! It's good to meet everyone here! I hadn't signed up for a big game like this in a long time, so it's really exciting for me! I'm Puri and I play Asriel Dreemurr, a tiny goat child (now a ghostly tiny goat child in Halloween Town!) hailing from an indie RPG called Undertale. He's a walking spoiler (of what nature? Hello again my spooks, Snow here with that second character he was working on. This one is... uh. By far more normal and not at all at the same time than Souji. Ryousuke Kominato hails from one of the numerous sports series out there these days, particularly Daiya no A (or Ace of Diamond, or Daiya no Ace, or literally fifty different names, I swear), which is one of the baseball ones running around.

He's normal in that he has no special abilities (we think? does he ever open his eyes? is he reading you as a person or reading your mind??? how can someone so small do what he does?!) but... not normal at all for the fact he's definitely into horror and isn't batting a damn eye at any of this. Especially since he's turning into a lake creature, during his birthday week.

Anyways, as with before, you can still find me at folklores! Here's looking forward to playing with everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm K and I'll be playing Tony Stark! He's a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist. He's got a computerized suit of armor called the Iron Man suit that yes, he does have with him in game ~~but sadly no Hulkbuster~~. He's also kind of an asshole. So yeah. Sorry, if he insults people. It's kind of his shtick. But at least he's a fun guy to be around?

I'm pulling him from the end of Age of Ultron, so he doesn't have his Arc Reactor anymore and he's already built an AI who looked at the internet and wanted to destroy humanity. Whoops. But hey, he's a vampire here in Halloween Town and he's probably gonna spend a lot of time trying to figure out the magic/tech here for funsies.

My plurk is gavinner and that's the best way to get a hold of me. My AIM is BUSTERMercenary which is my second choice of contact.

Hey, guys!

My name's Jude, and I'm coming into the game with Mettaton, the bombastic performing robot from the video game Undertale!

A bombastic performing zombie robot, in fact, thanks to the potion, which he took for association with what sounded like a fun n' flashy opportunity to get to know human holidays. He doesn't have a beef with monsters - don't let the looks fool you; even in canon, he's technically one himself! - and so he's not going to be rattled or anything by Halloween Town itself, he is going to be kind of put out coming to terms with the fact that he might not be keeping his good looks, dancing ability, and gift of the gab for very long. Ah, well - branch out and make use of what you do have for all it's worth, right?

On that note, I have a spoiler opt-out post for him here that'll also double as a zombie-powers permissions post! While it's not exactly in-depth on the latter front yet, since he has yet to gain... well, zombie powers, if you already know you'd either probably want to rule out or be open on a case-by-case basis to the kinds of mind games zombies can learn to play, feel free to drop in a comment at any point!

I love the idea of this game and I look forward to playing with you all! Until then (or, pff, even then-then), you can hit me up for anything by PM to either this account or psychopomposity.

Hello everyone!

My name is Sten, and I bring with me Harry Osborn from the original Spider-Man films. In particular, he comes from towards the middle of the second film after he's made a deal with Doctor Octopus to trade a valuable resource for Spider-Man. He is moody and bitter, but generally a pretty good guy. He thinks Spider-Man murdered his father and is on an obsessive vendetta against him, not knowing that Spider-Man - in reality - is his best friend, Peter Parker. He's also going to be a Goblin, because it seemed perfectly ironic for a guy who is inevitably going to inherit the supervillain identity of the Green Goblin.

He drank the potion thinking it was alcohol - someone trying to cheer him up with a silly message gram or something. It'll be a shock for him at first, but he'll warm up to being here and probably try to use this place as a way to figure out how to get revenge on Spider-Man somehow.

I'm so bad at intros..... HI! I'm Sarah and I'm bringing in Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series. (I bounced him around on the TDM a little bit and I plan to do so a bit more to try and get more people to app. We may have played together there already!)

He'll be a Trick-or-Treater, and drank the potion because he knows the Jack Skellington from his own universe, and considers him a friend and would help him whenever possible. (Even if this is a different version of him.) Also exploring holidays sounds like fun, and maybe he'll get to see Santa again! He has a somewhat simple and childlike personality, though comes with his own brand of sappy wisdom regarding friends, love, and hearts. Also probably light and darkness. He makes friends easily, and will likely consider your character a friend after only one interaction with them. In general he's a silly sappy dork who likes being helpful and knows how to be serious when the time calls for it. Here's his application if you want more details!

That's right! Halloween Town is now officially open and we welcome all of you to the game!

We greatly encourage all of you to continue introducing yourselves! While we introduced ourselves already we're more than happy to answer any questions.

And now:

The Monthly State of the Game:

As seen in our Calendar our official introduction log and our first event will be on the 7th with our second event being the 22nd. Please continue to introduce yourself to the community and we thank you for being so patient for the introduction log itself.

Just a reminder, since the New Moon is our first event, characters will be coming into the game looking like they normally would and then after the 14th they go into being monsters while the 22nd will be when the powers are at their strongest.

We still greatly encourage everyone to post around the test drive meme as we still have plenty of potential players looking for someone to interact with.

The activity check will just be a check-in so that everyone can get used to everything and we'll have our first HMD and official AC next month in May and our next Reserves and App cycle will open as intended. So reserves will open the 24th and applications will open on the 1st.

Please don't hesitate to recommend any ideas or holidays for the characters to enjoy, we will have a fun exploration event to find our first holiday outside of the Hitherlands in June! So keep an eye for that.

Hello everyone. I'm Karanore and I'm bringing in Rika from Phantasy Star IV which was an old game for the Sega Genesis. She's artificially created and this remains the same in Halloween Town as she's a Ragdoll. Which of course could create all sorts of fun.

She's really brave as well as inquisitive and curious. New things are really exciting for her, which is pretty much everything as she's fresh from the Bio-plant in which she was created. Technically she's only a year old, but for all intents and purposes, she's more around 16. She creates connections with others fairly easily and it won't take long for her to call someone a friend. Feel free to check out her app on her journal for more info, or just talk to me. I can most easily be reached through PMs, but I check plurk often too. I put my AIM in the contact list too, but I hardly go on it. Though, I'll try to be on AIM more often now that it's out there.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting started and playing with everyone!

Hello and how do you boo my Halloween Towners! My name is Jax!

I'm bringing in two ladies at the same time!

The first one is Alice Liddell from the books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass madcuriosity.

She's going to be a little witch (which she's not at all happy about because of the nose, but she'll forget about being bothered soon enough). So for any potions or magic spell needs, feel free to come to her! Alice herself is a little seven year old who is a ball of curiosity and has a deep fondness for cats (thus her being a witch among other things). She is very sweet though she can be incredibly persnickety without much issue. She's going to try and be a good witch though. It was her curiosity that brought Alice here to Halloween Town.

And the second lady is:

Princess Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs onebadapple.

She's the fairest of them all and very sweet (buuut incredibly trusting and while not dumb, she's not exactly smart). She came because she thought a bat animal friend brought her something to drink after waking up from her year long spell. Snow is going to be a Lycanthrope with a deer, snow leopard, and bluejay as her various forms, however she will already be able to speak with animals and have them listen to her as she's always been able to do that.

Snow is a magnificent cook as well (just don't mention using apples).

I was mostly waiting until I finished my other app to do an intro, but seeing as no one else has done one yet... I figured I would go ahead and get things started. So.

Hello, my fellow spooks! I'm Snow, and for my first character I'm bringing you the protagonist from the Persona 4 series - in this case, I'm an old fogey and use the original game/manga instead of anime/fighting games, so you'll come to know him as Souji Seta here. He's a friendly, if quiet/observant and a little quirky, guy who drank his potion because he figured that if he could help out here, he should, and because he's seen weirder shit (he thought, anyways) back home.

He's coming in as a lycanthrope (deer, cat, wolf!) and once he starts having to deal with food problems, he's going to probably look into starting a business to help other lycans with their sensitivity, too.

Anyways, as for me, you can find me over at folklores if you want to chat or plot - both of which I'm open to! Here's looking forward to playing with you.
