This test drive is meant to provide those who are interested in applying to the game an opportunity to not only experience the setting and mechanics, but to interact with players and characters already in the game!
The threads on the Test Drive Meme may be used for both sample sections of the applications and those already in game may use the threads here to supplement up to ten comments for their AC regardless of whether the player you threaded with applied.
It is up to the discretion of each individual player on whether they would like to use what happens here on the Test Drive Meme as their IC intro into the game.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The monster your character picks will not be official until you are accepted into the game. This is your opportunity to try out all sorts of monster types until you find the one that suits you and your character best!

The Prompts:
Prompt 1 - Arrival: Having just arrived to Halloween Town, you may feel a little queasy. That is entirely natural. You're in a giant circular room with whatever it is you may have brought with you. A very tall figure walks out of the shadows and he's incredibly pale... that is until you realize the hand reaching out to you is not bone-thin, oh no, it is actual bone. Meet the ruler of Halloween Town and the king of Halloween, Jack Skellington. He greets you with a big smile and exclaims with joy how happy he is that you made it and how much happier he is to see you, one hand held out in greeting and the other holding the Jack o' Laptop he has ready for you.
Perhaps you stay to listen to him explain what awaits you and he will then happily escort you outside into the town to provide you a quick explanation before he excuses himself to greet the other new arrivals, leaving you to explore the town. Or, perhaps, the mere sight of a skeleton was... not what you were expecting and you ran out screaming before he can get more than a "Hello-" out.
Either way:
Prompt 2 - The Town: Whether you ran out screaming or were guided out into the town, there are most certainly monsters and ghouls all about. If you were patient enough to wait for an explanation, you know that they are the residents of this holiday. If you ran out screaming? Well, you might be getting more than a few scares- we mean... stares. But the town is just waiting for you to explore! But something is strange. When you look into a mirror or see a glass you look just a tiny bit off. And perhaps you feel just a tiny bit different.
Maybe you don't even have a reflection and all you can feel at the moment is a deep need to feed. Surely someone can help you... provided you can stop screaming at the sight of the citizens long enough.
We wouldn't recommend attacking any of the citizens, however, newborn monster that you are. We wouldn't want you to be a spirit so early in your visit.
Prompt 3 - The First Door: You've now been in Halloween Town for several days and while the zombies eat brains and the vampires drink blood, no one has tried to attack you (unless you've attacked them first, of course). The mayor, driving in his car announces a town meeting! Everyone must come to the Town Hall, even our new arrivals. Jack and Sally explain that Easter is nearly here! And the Easter Bunny has been kind enough to invite you all to experience what it's like to get ready for the holiday! It is time to take your trip through the Hitherlands to the door of Holidays. The path is laid out with Jack o' lanterns and linked bat-light strings between the trees to guide you to the doors. Don't mind that rather ominous entrance, within is perfectly safe... well... at least we think it is. As you travel along the path, you'll come across all the doors, but the one you are seeking is the one currently open. Trying to open the other doors, be it with spells or with force will result in nothing. Do you go in? Do you head back to the town?
Prompt 4 - Easter Island:Welcome to Easter Island! You may need to squint at first, since it's so bright and colorful, the complete opposite of Halloween Town. But once your vision adjusts, you'll notice something... different. You will find you are no longer any monsters but instead you're- well... to put it quite plainly, you're adorable! You have been turned into the citizens of Easter Island! The Easter Bunny welcomes you warmly, quite surprised to see so many adorable newcomers! And you'll find, perhaps without surprise at this point, that you can understand him. So what does he have planned for you?
Prompt 5 - Easter Egg Hunt: No matter what cute, adorable, and fluffy animal or egg ghost you've been turned into, there is an Easter basket waiting for you to go on a hunt! Throughout the entire island, that's yours to explore, are all sorts of different colored eggs. Each differently colored egg offers you a special reward or a certain kind of magic.
If you find:
A red egg: Will make you more inclined to hug and cuddle with the next person you see. A pink egg: Is a dark chocolate egg! Mmm chocolate. An orange egg: Is a milk chocolate egg. Mmm more chocolate. A yellow egg: Will suddenly turn into a small plush animal that replicates the animal you got turned into. It's so soft and fluffy. A green egg: Will turn into a little plastic egg-bracelet or egg earrings. Don't lose them though, the Easter Bunny asked Lady Luck to imbue them with a tiny bit of luck. A blue egg: Will make you burst out into song and you can't stop until you finish that song. A purple egg: A couple extra Holidollars and you get to take that with you back to Halloween Town.
But perhaps an egg hunt isn't something you're interested in! That's completely fine, the citizens need a lot of help getting ready for Easter for people! There's all sorts of jobs you can do! There's egg painting, egg counting, egg gathering, and basket weaving! All of these jobs pay Holidollars and you're making holidays wonderful for children everywhere!
Just don't drop the eggs! We don't want to make more egg spirits! Dropping an egg will bring you a whole day of bad luck as well.

[Peter is oblivious, flying around the different trees to look at their doors. He thinks he hears a noise, and looks around. That tree... One of them doesn't look as tree-y as it did before, which was odd. It wasn't the day for the trees to change. He pauses and screws up his noise]
Oh now now! [She tried to soothe, resting a hand on Rise's elbow.]
You still look lovely! And scales don't make you a good person, or a beautiful person where it matters most. You can be exactly what you want to be, even with scales.
[She offered a gentle smile.]
Why, I'm sure that someone so talented could do anything they wished, if they just put their mind to it. And you best stop, we don't want you getting hurt!
Roxas wasn't the only one at the mirror. Fortunately, it was large enough to show a couple people at once. In her exploration of the town, Rika found the mirror as well and now looked at it with a curiously surprised expression.
Seed and Wren had to teach her other things in the short time she'd been alive, and so she was never told the existence of mirrors. While it was true she'd never actually seen herself before, her long pink hair was hard to miss even without a mirror. And she knew the shape of her long ears from feeling them before. From that knowledge, she knew the young woman she was looking at in the mirror had to be her.
The sight of herself wasn't the main reason for her expression of surprised curiosity; her expression came from the fact that something like this existed at all. What was it used for? How was it made? Clearly from some type of glass, but how did it have such a clear, reflective surface? Could it be mixed with a metal of some sort?
During her ponderings, Rika noticed the other person looking in the mirror. He seemed... possibly confused about something? "Hello," she greeted, smiling softly. "Are you new here too?"
[Rika perked at the noises made. Somehow, she knew it wasn't a threatening noise, but it was so unique!]
How interesting!
[She spoke, but again it only sounded like squeaks, and she didn't even know if she said what she wanted to in... whatever language it was that she was apparently speaking in now. But the other animal's noises were definitely much more interesting than her own squeaks. Still, she didn't know for sure if this was just an animal that was confused by her or another person who changed. She tried to focus harder on the words she wanted to say.]
Hello, I'm Rika.
[Unfortunately, she still only heard squeaks. If she could frown, she would.]
[It was a little sad that Daryl thought this was more colorful and brighter than a lot of places. Rika may have never left the bio-plant before now, but she'd seen pictures of what her planet looked like and it was more colorful than this place.]
[ He chuckles, touching his neck where he has some scales coming in, himself. ]
It was the reverse for me. [ Poor Kuramochi, following on his heels the second he started packing. ] But I suppose it's understandable. Being changed into a creature can be rather jarring.
[you know what else Sorey might not have expected? a bright red, ten-foot-long, snaky, spiny dragon, clearly a ghost, coiling in the air around the Easter tree and grumbling in his direction, eldritch steam wreathing the space around her.]
Oh, of course it is not what you expected! I saw an egg, and a large bright egg at that, and what should it be but a silly painting on a tree only!
[at least she's the most articulate one he's ever met...]
[ He regards the storefront with her, smiling. ] It's always worth asking I think. They trusted us to come here in the first place, after all, and maybe you'd bring a new eye to the business that they'd need.
[Interesting is certainly one way to put it. Sounds versus understanding is taking a moment or so to sink in with her denial as set as it is, leaving her only real option as a brief fall back from the confidence into 'auto-pilot'.] Ah-
...Kotsu Masumi. ...What were you saying earlier? [she adds, somewhat suspicious of their own linguistic abilities.]
[His immediate reaction is to take a few steps back as soon as he sees a dragon, of all things, curled around the tree. He's been through this enough times that he at least knows to be wary of a dragon, especially when he's on his own.
But in those few seconds where she isn't attacking or making him feel sick from heavy amounts of malevolence, he notices a few things. Notably that she doesn't seem to be full of malevolence, or at least not as much malevolence as you'd normally see in a dragon. There's also the part where she's talking, and he can't say he's ever had that happen before. Surely someone would have mentioned talking dragons before if it was possible to communicate with them?
[she sniffs, slowing in the air until she's a long still lazy coil, eyes fixed on him; there's probably a little malevolence hovering around her, but not as much as even a regular hellion.]
What, are you another person who has not met a talking dragon before? I am not going to eat you, if I even can, though I will not say no to trying ghost beef if you have a ghost cow; I will tell you that now. There has been so much fuss and bother over it already.
[The other animal seemed friendly enough and nothing about its smell threatened her, even though she still didn't understand what it was saying back to her. But was the conversation at least one sided? Did the animal understand her even if she couldn't understand it? It was worth it to at least hope for something like that.]
I'm sorry that I don't understand what you're saying, but hopefully we can talk more later. That is, if you too used to be something other than an animal?
[She hoped she said what she wanted to, still only hearing the squeaks. Maybe she could learn to differentiate which tones and octaves in her squeaks went with the words she wanted to say. If she did that, maybe she could apply it to the other noises too and learn what this other animal was saying that way.]
[tosses her head, with a little flip of her wings]
The meeting was not very important, if it was my Granby would have been there, and he was not. Help me open this ridiculous egg, if it is really a door; perhaps he is on the other side!
