Test Drive

Welcome to the Halloween Town Test Drive.
This test drive is meant to provide those who are interested in applying to the game an opportunity to not only experience the setting and mechanics, but to interact with players and characters already in the game!
The threads on the Test Drive Meme may be used for both sample sections of the applications and those already in game may use the threads here to supplement up to ten comments for their AC regardless of whether the player you threaded with applied.
It is up to the discretion of each individual player on whether they would like to use what happens here on the Test Drive Meme as their IC intro into the game.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The monster your character picks will not be official until you are accepted into the game. This is your opportunity to try out all sorts of monster types until you find the one that suits you and your character best!
And without further ado:

Prompt 1 - Arrival: Having just arrived to Halloween Town, you may feel a little queasy. That is entirely natural. You're in a giant circular room with whatever it is you may have brought with you. A very tall figure walks out of the shadows and he's incredibly pale... that is until you realize the hand reaching out to you is not bone-thin, oh no, it is actual bone. Meet the ruler of Halloween Town and the king of Halloween, Jack Skellington. He greets you with a big smile and exclaims with joy how happy he is that you made it and how much happier he is to see you, one hand held out in greeting and the other holding the Jack o' Laptop he has ready for you.
Perhaps you stay to listen to him explain what awaits you and he will then happily escort you outside into the town to provide you a quick explanation before he excuses himself to greet the other new arrivals, leaving you to explore the town. Or, perhaps, the mere sight of a skeleton was... not what you were expecting and you ran out screaming before he can get more than a "Hello-" out.
Either way:Prompt 2 - The Town: Whether you ran out screaming or were guided out into the town, there are most certainly monsters and ghouls all about. If you were patient enough to wait for an explanation, you know that they are the residents of this holiday. If you ran out screaming? Well, you might be getting more than a few scares- we mean... stares. But the town is just waiting for you to explore! But something is strange. When you look into a mirror or see a glass you look just a tiny bit off. And perhaps you feel just a tiny bit different.
Maybe you don't even have a reflection and all you can feel at the moment is a deep need to feed. Surely someone can help you... provided you can stop screaming at the sight of the citizens long enough.
We wouldn't recommend attacking any of the citizens, however, newborn monster that you are. We wouldn't want you to be a spirit so early in your visit.Prompt 3 - The First Door: You've now been in Halloween Town for several days and while the zombies eat brains and the vampires drink blood, no one has tried to attack you (unless you've attacked them first, of course). The mayor, driving in his car announces a town meeting! Everyone must come to the Town Hall, even our new arrivals. Jack and Sally explain that Easter is nearly here! And the Easter Bunny has been kind enough to invite you all to experience what it's like to get ready for the holiday! It is time to take your trip through the Hitherlands to the door of Holidays. The path is laid out with Jack o' lanterns and linked bat-light strings between the trees to guide you to the doors. Don't mind that rather ominous entrance, within is perfectly safe... well... at least we think it is. As you travel along the path, you'll come across all the doors, but the one you are seeking is the one currently open. Trying to open the other doors, be it with spells or with force will result in nothing. Do you go in? Do you head back to the town?
Prompt 4 - Easter Island: Welcome to Easter Island! You may need to squint at first, since it's so bright and colorful, the complete opposite of Halloween Town. But once your vision adjusts, you'll notice something... different. You will find you are no longer any monsters but instead you're- well... to put it quite plainly, you're adorable! You have been turned into the citizens of Easter Island! The Easter Bunny welcomes you warmly, quite surprised to see so many adorable newcomers! And you'll find, perhaps without surprise at this point, that you can understand him. So what does he have planned for you?
Prompt 5 - Easter Egg Hunt: No matter what cute, adorable, and fluffy animal or egg ghost you've been turned into, there is an Easter basket waiting for you to go on a hunt! Throughout the entire island, that's yours to explore, are all sorts of different colored eggs. Each differently colored egg offers you a special reward or a certain kind of magic.
If you find:A red egg: Will make you more inclined to hug and cuddle with the next person you see.
A pink egg: Is a dark chocolate egg! Mmm chocolate.
An orange egg: Is a milk chocolate egg. Mmm more chocolate.
A yellow egg: Will suddenly turn into a small plush animal that replicates the animal you got turned into. It's so soft and fluffy.
A green egg: Will turn into a little plastic egg-bracelet or egg earrings. Don't lose them though, the Easter Bunny asked Lady Luck to imbue them with a tiny bit of luck.
A blue egg: Will make you burst out into song and you can't stop until you finish that song.
A purple egg: A couple extra Holidollars and you get to take that with you back to Halloween Town.
But perhaps an egg hunt isn't something you're interested in! That's completely fine, the citizens need a lot of help getting ready for Easter for people! There's all sorts of jobs you can do! There's egg painting, egg counting, egg gathering, and basket weaving! All of these jobs pay Holidollars and you're making holidays wonderful for children everywhere!
Just don't drop the eggs! We don't want to make more egg spirits! Dropping an egg will bring you a whole day of bad luck as well.
Please read through the Rules and FAQs thoroughly before playing.

Sora | Kingdom Hearts
Making the decision to drink the potion had taken barely a second of thought. As far as Sora's aware, he's helped Jack and Sally and the others more than once already, and he's always happy to visit his friends again. The fact that he's not immediately in his usual Halloween Town outfit upon arrival is a little strange to him though. There are no familiar fangs in his mouth, his fingers aren't claw-like, and a look over his shoulder proves there's no bat wings on his back. All-in-all, he seems to look pretty normal... except maybe his skin is a little paler?
He doesn't get a lot of time to ponder this though, because there's a very familiar face. Any possible worries are forgotten, and he's grinning. "Jack!"
PROMPT 2: THE TOWN
There are familiar landmarks here, but overall there's so much more, that Sora is a little like a kid in a candy store. Which is maybe a more accurate description than he even realizes yet. As he explores the places that are brand new to him, like the University, the Hospital, and the Lake. As excited as he is, he might literally bump into a few people.
It's at this last place, the Black Crystal Lake, that he finally sees his reflection. His skin is definitely paler in color. Like, bone-white.
"I guess it makes sense, if it's a different Halloween Town. I just turn into something else..." Admittedly, it's kind of a boring "something else," comparatively speaking.
PROMPT 4: EASTER ISLAND
He's a fawn. It's a good thing he has at least some experience moving about on four legs, but these are definitely different than lion legs. After not too long, he gets more used to it, and finds he enjoys being this close to the grass, the flowers. Meeting the Easter Bunny is no small thing either, he's more than happy to listen to him and do whatever is asked of him.
PROMPT 5: EGG HUNT
With his Easter basket being carried in his mouth, Sora explores the Island and hunts for eggs. At some point, he must have found a yellow one, as eventually there's a soft plush little fawn riding atop his head as he continues to search.
[ I'm open to prose or actionspam-type tags. In Halloween Town, I'm playing with the idea of making Sora a Trick-or-Treater, but I'll also be willing to try him out as a Ragdoll or a Lycanthrope, just let me know which version you want to play with, otherwise I'll default to the Trick-or-Treater version. ]
Two!~
As a doll.
Having reached the lake, Rocket was in the process of trying not to itch at the stitching that was insanely uncomfortable thanks to how new it was, when his ears perked at the sound of a voice. They gave a little flick before he turned his head to glance over at the young man, not recognizing him but at least he seemed as new to this place as Rocket himself was.
Hopefully.
"Oye! Kid!" Rocket snapped, moving away from the water as his tail lashed about behind him, the ragdoll ignoring how sopping wet his paws felt as he made his way over.

While he hadn't really been expecting it to be a ragdoll raccoon-type creature, he's not totally surprised, considering everything else he's seen. This is pretty normal, actually.
"Yeah?"
no subject
Gold star for you, Sora.
Rocket stopped a few feet from the young man, eyeing him slightly before his tail gave a flick.
"You were welcomed here by that skeleton prick named Jack, right?" he asked, one ear cocked while the other flicked out to the side. "Any idea where he is?"
no subject
"Jack Skellington?" The 'skeleton prick' comment definitely gets a frown, considering this is a version of one of his friends they're talking about, but for the most part Sora ignores it for now. "Not sure. He moves around a lot. Usually he's around Dr. Finklestein's labs or the Town Hall..." He pauses. "Or at least the Jack I knew used to be around those places a lot. I don't think the Jack Skellington that brought us here is that different, though."
no subject
"What do you mean by that? You're saying there are two different versions of that skeleton?" he asked, ears flicking as he tried to make a little more sense out of what Sora was saying.
This was some weird time travel, alternate dimension stuff wasn't it?
sorry about slow tags eep
"Uhhh, well at least two that I know, yeah. I've been to a different version of this place, too. It didn't have a lake like this, but it had a lot of the other stuff."
...He's probably just confusing this poor guy even more, way to go Sora.

You okay?
[Oh, a red egg. He'd yet to find any of those color yet. Maybe that had something to do with it?]
no subject
[She still didn't know much about interacting with other humans... or in this case animals, though they may have been a human before coming to these worlds. Unfortunately there was only so much Seed and Wren could teach her about it.]
I'm not sure why, but I really felt like I wanted to do it. Then before I knew it, I was hopping to you.
[But it seemed the effects hadn't worn off and she gently hopped a little closer, to lie next to him with her side pressed against his. He was warm, but pleasantly so. It was kind of... comforting.]
sorry for my slowness!
[It's really only awkward in the sense that Sora's still not used to being a faun, and he's not sure what to do with himself exactly in this form with someone needing comfort or affection. Lions pounce and groom, he remembers, but that doesn't seem like the best option here.
He settles on just staying where he is, with their sides pressed together. It was a pretty comfortable position, so hopefully it helped.]
Did something scare you? Or, hey, it could be one of the eggs, I think some of them do magic stuff. One of mine turned into this stuffed animal.
[He nudges the faun plush with his nose, pushing it toward her slightly.]
It's okay!
[Though it was a strange way to meet someone.
Rika moved her head closer to the plush without really moving away from Sora, examining the little faun that looked just like the one she was laying next to. Her ears moved up in curiosity.]
It's possible; the earrings and bracelets I received used to be eggs too. What a strange magic, though, I never heard of any magic creating a need for closeness in my world.
[Though its use in battle would be interesting.]
no subject
[It is a strange way to meet someone, but not the strangest, not for Sora anyway. It was better than having people fall on you, that was for sure!]
Yeah, me neither. Most of the magic I know is just like fire or thunder and stuff. Magnet makes people come closer, but not because they want to. It kinda forces them.
no subject
[Then again, she didn't know the purpose of any part of this island so far, but it was fun to find the eggs and see what was inside or what it did. She also couldn't deny that the closeness, forced as it was, with another person-turned-animal was kind of comforting. She hadn't really gotten this close to another person before, and never for this long. If it did get awkward for Sora, then she would attempt to see if the magic wore off, but for now she was content talking with him.]
Magic in my world is somewhat similar in its use of the elements. There are also restorative Techs and magic that can inflict or remove certain ailments.
no subject
[He sounds amused by this though, rather than frustrated. Egg-hunting is plenty fun, but so is making new friends.
In truth, he's never been this close to someone for this long either, except for sometimes when he had friends spending the night and they sort of fell asleep in a pile. Been a few years since that had last happened, though. Still, it somehow feels more natural when they're both in animal form. That, and he wasn't about to just get up and walk away and leave her by herself if this was something she needed. He's not mean.]
We have stuff like that too. Like casting Cure heals people. And potions do that too. And ether lets you cast more magic.
no subject
That's okay. Finding the eggs and getting rewarded is nice, but making friends is better.
[She never really had an opportunity to meet anyone besides Seed and Wren before she arrived on this world. Meeting new people was every bit as exciting as seeing new sights.]
It's interesting how magic is different throughout the universe. The magic here is new for me, but so is the magic you speak of. Magic where I'm from is thought to be long forgotten and the kind I mentioned earlier is actually called Techniques, though it's similar to the magic you mentioned with its connection to the elements and healing. I know of no way to restore the TP needed to use these Techniques other than resting. At least, no item has been found or created to achieve this result.
I wonder if 'ether' will work to restore TP, or if it is solely for restoring the ability to cast magic. Perhaps it wouldn't work with either since the magic is not the same.
